Raul Mata, Former Territory Star, Dead At 71
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that former Mexican National Light Heavyweight Champion Raul Mata, a staple of the Californian wrestling scene of the late-60s & early-70s, has died at the age of 71. No cause of death was listed. Mata is cited as the wrestler that inspired Scott Steiner to do the Frankensteiner, a variation on Raul Mata’s Mata rola maneuver.
