After five months away from the ring and surgeries on both of his knees, Kevin Owens returned to the ring this past Tuesday night on Smackdown Live as Mr. McMahon’s hand-picked replacement to challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at the upcoming Fastlane pay-per-view.
Vignettes began advertising Owens’ returned since December, and were updated in mid-February with the former Universal Champion claiming he wouldn’t be cleared by doctors for “another month”.
