Wildfire ignites in foothills above Layton

A wildfire has sparked in brush east of Layton, in the foothills above Highway 89 and Antelope Drive, the Layton City Fire Department tweeted Monday.Fire officials say the Snoqualmie Fire has burned about 35 acres but is not threatening structures. Evacuations are underway in the area nearby.The Salt Lake Tribune will update this story as more information becomes available.
