Letter: No reason to assign collective guilt
Regarding the May 17 commentary, “Reparations, and the family history we don’t talk about,” by Kristi Thomas Boyce.The author makes the case for collective white guilt for horrible injustices done to blacks, presumably over the last 400 or so years. Her remedy is reparations, money paid, by the government, to the descendants of the victims.One problem is how do you decide who is the victim and who is the perpetrator.
