Letter: It’s time to return to civility

If The Salt Lake Tribune has any hope of contributing to the national healing that President-elect Joe Biden continually refers to, it should refuse to publish such vitriolic, demeaning and derogatory letters such as the one written by Jim Defa (“Trump’s pardon of killers is deplorable indeed,” Dec. 28).Simply because a person espouses a different political opinion than Mr. Defa, or others, does not justify that person being slandered as deplorable, inhumane, unjust or cruel.To
