Letter: Is pain now considered a psychiatric illness?

Recently, I have gone to the emergency room for pain medication twice. I guess that pain is now considered a psychiatric illness. I guess they give you psycho babble to treat pain.My kidney stones were treated by putting me in a cement dungeon until I begged to leave. I have six documented stones. I was told to go to a pain clinic. The pain clinic wanted me to be inpatient to a psych facility for a month to treat my rotator cuff tear and my stones. Have the physicians totally lost their minds?
