In response to Dale Nelson’s letter, “Ignorance shouldn’t be an excuse to throw out tradition,” ignorance is used constantly to explain away practices that have long outlived their usefulness. I applaud Bountiful High School Principal Aaron Hogge for starting the process to select a more culturally appropriate mascot.Change is not always welcome, but in this instance, it is overdue.
