Letter: Horse sterilization plan is a moral catastrophe

I read with interest Brian Maffly’s Sunday article, “Feds to begin surgical sterilization on wild horses.” As the article points out, not only animal welfare groups, but scientists, some Western congressional representatives, and a spectrum of conservationists and other concerned residents call for a halt in this unwarranted and inhumane program of surgical sterilization.I might add, I’m a Vietnam War veteran and know more than a few of my ilk who object to this abysmal p
