Letter: Educational preparation pays off

I was surprised to read in your Sept. 29 Opinion section that the Early Childhood Education Teaching Program was being “reinstated.”You mean say such a program was ever terminated?I continued through the piece as the old adage — “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” — kept running through my head.Perhaps better said would be, “A pound of educational preparation in the sensitive years is worth a ton of benefit (cure) for the common good.&rdquo
