LDS Church changes policy — members who get married in civilly can be sealed in temples immediately
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who marry in a civil ceremony no longer have to wait a year to be married in one of the faith’s temples.In a letter Monday to church leaders around the world, the governing First Presidency wrote, “Where possible, leaders should encourage couples to be both married and sealed in the temple.
