Blaze burns building under construction at SLCC Taylorsville campus

A fire started on the roof of the Applied Technology Building on the Taylorsville campus of Salt Lake Community College on Monday evening shortly after 5 p.m., spewing out giant clouds of smoke.Firefighters from the United Fire Authority were on the scene within minutes, said Unified’s public information officer Kevin Love, but due to gusty winds and the fact that the building was being renovated, the fire quickly breached every level.
