Jakob Poeltl contract reportedly doomed Raptors’ Sabonis trade

The Toronto Raptors were a lot closer to landing Domantas Sabonis than a lot of people realized.According to ESPN‘s Anthony Slater, Toronto and the Sacramento Kings were deep in talks before February’s trade deadline on a deal that would’ve sent the All-Star centre north of the border.The framework of the trade reportedly included RJ Barrett, but there was one major problem. Slater reported that “the Kings nearly traded Sabonis to the Toronto Raptors at the deadline in Fe
