Martin Perez had the upper hand over Jhoulys Chacin in the battle of Venezuelan starters as the Rangers held on to defeat the Padres, 4-3, at Surprise Stadium on Friday. Perez followed up his two starts for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic by holding the Padres scoreless over five innings.
