Johnson edges Sandgren at New York Open

Steve Johnson edged fellow American Tennys Sandgren 6-7 (5), 6-3, 7-6 (3) on Monday in the first round of the New York Open. It was Sandgren's first match since he lost to Roger Federer in the Australian Open quarterfinals.
