Italian Ski Racer Matilde Lorenzi Dies in Training Accident

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has published a press release on October 29, 2024 confirming the death of Italian ski racer Matilde Lorenzi.Lorenzi's life was lost during a training run on the Grawand G1 slope in Val Senales, Italy. She was just 19 years old.Lorenzi was a rising star in the competitive Italian ski racing ranks. She finished in 8th place in the Giant Slalom at the 2024 Italian National Championships, and had done well on the junior circuit.FIS' press release
