First Skier Avalanche Fatality In Colorado Reported For This Season

The Colorado Avalanche Info Center reported that "On February 11, 2024 a backcountry skier was caught and killed in an avalanche in the Anthracite Range, near the town of Crested Butte." This is the first avalanche-caused skier fatality in Colorado for the 2023-24 season, the first fatality being a snowboarder.
