19th Avalanche Fatality of Season Confirmed in Utah

The Utah Avalanche Center (UAC) has confirmed the death of 51-year-old Michael Janulaitis from Marion, Utah.
Janulaitis was killed by an avalanche on a steep Northeast facing bowl on Hoyt Peak on Friday, March 7, 2025. He is the 19th confirmed avalanche fatality in The United States this winter season.
