Rough outing leads Andrew Painter back to minors

PHILADELPHIA — Phillies rookie Andrew Painter, a former first-round pick and a top prospect over the past handful of years, has had his chance to stick in the rotation to start this season. His next turn will be with Lehigh Valley.
The Phillies optioned Painter to Triple-A after Wednesday’s game. They did not announce a corresponding move.
Painter allowed six runs on six hits in just two innings in a 12-4 Phil
