Justin Sterner Undergoes Season-Ending Surgery

The Athletics announced that right-hander Justin Sterner has undergone right knee surgery, specifically a chondroplasty of the medial femoral condyle. Sterner will start his rehabilitation work but won’t return during the remainder of the 2026 season. He is already on the 15-day injured list but will be transferred to the 60-day IL whenever the A’s need his roster spot.
Sterner, now 29, was claimed off waivers from the Rays in November of 2024. He was a solid bullpen option for the A
