While far from the best fight in early UFC history, the second fight between Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock, on April 7, 1995, was the longest, most widely viewed, and most talked about fight in UFC's first decade. When the Ultimate Fighting Championship debuted on pay-per-view on Nov. 12, 1993, the few insiders that there were figured this crapshoot of a fighting tournament was likely coming down to two men.
