Prior to their loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, the New York Knicks had gone on one of the greatest runs in NBA playoff history. After falling down 2-1 in their first round series against the Atlanta Hawks, the Knicks reeled off 13 straight wins, sweeping through two straight rounds and then taking the first two games of the Finals on the road.
It was a level of play that many felt was possible from the Knicks, but that they had failed to reach at any point of the seaso
