Coach left a mark on Minnesota hockey, ‘mostly because he cared about kids’

Longtime hockey coach Larry Hendrickson, who led Richfield and Apple Valley to state finals and was the father of Wild assistant coach Darby Hendrickson, died Friday at the age of 75, according to family friend Kimberly Albert.
Hendrickson passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family after a battle with heart failure, she said.
