Springer activated from disabled list

The Astros activated All-Star outfielder George Springer from the 10-day disabled list prior to Friday's series opener against the A's at the Oakland Coliseum. Springer has been out since spraining his left thumb Aug. 5 in Los Angeles against the Dodgers.
