Expect some strong storms this afternoon and evening in Wichita area

Severe storms are "likely" in the Wichita metropolitan area and southeast Kansas this afternoon and evening as a cold front slides south through the state, weather officials say. The primary threats will be winds of up to 70 miles an hour, locally heavy rain and hail larger than an inch in diameter, according to the National Weather Service.
