State must repay ex-UW student found not guilty in stabbing

A judge ruled Friday that the state must reimburse a former UW student more than $45,000 in legal expenses after a jury found him not guilty of assault in January and ruled he acted lawfully in defending himself against a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
