CPR survival rates vary greatly by city — a big concern

Big advances have been made in treating a patient with a stopped heart, but these improvements remain underused nationally. In Seattle and King County, survival rates after cardiac arrest outside a hospital are 19.9 percent. In Detroit, that rate is about 3 percent.
