Vermont Gas requests 3.8 rate drop in fiscal 2019

The state’s natural-gas utility has asked state regulators to approve a rate reduction that would see residential customers pay 2.7 percent less starting in the next fiscal year.Combined with cuts for commercial and industrial customers, the total average rate reduction will be 3.8 percent if the proposal submitted by the company on Feb. 15 is approved by the Public Utility Commission.
