UPDATED: Soucy named to Rutland County Senate seat

Republican David Soucy, of Killington, will be the next state senator from Rutland County.
Soucy, reached late Monday afternoon, confirmed his appointment by Republican Gov. Phil Scott to fill the remaining portion of the two-year term of former Rutland County state Sen. Kevin Mullin, R-Rutland.
Mullin stepped down from the post after his appointment by the governor to chair the Green Mountain Care Board.
