Unemployment rate drops below 3 percent

Vermont’s unemployment rate fell again in September to 2.9 percent, the lowest rate in more than a decade.
“The last time the unemployment rate was this low was below 3 percent was in December 2000, nearly 17 years ago,” Lindsay Kurrle, the commissioner of the Vermont Department of Labor, said in a press release. “Needless to say, employers are looking for workers at all levels. Students, career changers, re-entrants to the labor market—whatever your individual situ
