State Police kill Poultney man after standoff

Vermont State Police officers shot and killed a Poultney man early Friday morning.
Michael Battles, 32, was killed during a standoff at his residence on 1703 Finel Hollow Road in Poultney as troopers were trying to arrest him on charge of aggravated domestic assault, Vermont State Police said in a statement released late Friday afternoon.
Police said he was shot after he pointed a gun at officers.
