Officer shooting in St. Albans under investigation

Jack LaPlant, 26, of St. Albans was shot by St. Albans Police Department officers on Monday evening.
LaPlant was carrying a rifle and gun shots had been reported in the city, according to a press release from the Vermont State Police. When police encountered him, there was an exchange of gunfire and LaPlant’s abdomen was grazed by a bullet.
He was sent to Northwestern Medical Center and was subsequently transferred to the UVM Medical Center where he was treated for the non-life threatening
