Busy Burlington intersection to get temporary makeover

BURLINGTON — A much-maligned five-way intersection in the South End is being temporarily reconfigured as part of a “pop-up” demonstration Thursday through Friday at noon.
The intersection of Howard and St. Paul streets, where South Winooski Avenue comes to an end, will be reconfigured based on “design elements for this busy intersection as proposed by city officials earlier this year,” according to a news release from AARP Vermont.
