Bennington charter group supports putting option tax on table

BENNINGTON — The town’s Charter Review Committee will recommend giving the Selectboard the authority to develop a local option tax plan for submission to voters.
After some debate Wednesday, the committee voted unanimously to include that recommendation in a report members expect to present to the board by the end of December on possible revisions to the town’s governmental charter.
