Asbestos complicates Royalton mill demolition

The former Windsor County Feed and Supply grain mill, built in 1909, on Pleasant Street in South Royalton, Vt., seen on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, now owned by Eric Jacobs, is being dismantled. In 1994 the organic grain supplier filed for bankruptcy following allegations of embezzlement against an employee. The building was sold to Bethel-based Tri-Org, but never operated as a mill again.
