Utility van driver killed in collision with semitrailer

SALT LAKE CITY — A utility van driver has died after plowing into the back of a semitrailer that was stopped at a traffic light Monday, authorities said.
Randall Searcy, 46, was killed in the rear-end collision about 1 p.m. at 2100 South and 900 West, said Salt Lake City police Sgt. Brandon Schearer. Crews took Searcy to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
