Utah voting off to slow start Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY — Voting centers around Salt Lake County weren't very busy Tuesday as Utahns went to the polls to vote for municipal leaders, school bonds and, in some areas, a new member of Congress.
"Some locations are pretty slow," said Salt Lake County Clerk Sherrie Swensen, adding she hopes the county can hit 40 percent voter turnout.
Polls across the state remain open until 8 p.m.
Thousands of voters have already cast their ballots by mail.
