U. institutes clear bag policy for fans attending athletic events

SALT LAKE CITYThe University of Utah is phasing in a clear bag policy at all athletic events at Rice-Eccles Stadium and the Huntsman Center this fall.
According to U. Police Chief Dale Brophy, the policy change aims to speed up security checkpoints and protect fans. It comes on the heels of several recent security breaches at venues around the globe.
Enforcement of the policy will not go into effect until July 1, 2018, though fans are encouraged to begin complying immediately.
