Senate committee moves proposal to eliminate decals on exempt plates

SALT LAKE CITY — Government vehicles sporting exempt license plates, as well as those operating fleet vehicles that qualify for apportioned plates, would no longer be beholden to the yearly application of renewal decals under a proposal passed by a Senate committee Wednesday.
Sen. Don Ipson, R-St. George, told members of the Senate Transportation, Public Utilities, Energy and Technology Committee that he worked with the Utah Department of Motor Vehicles and state Tax Commission on SB80.
