Sandy man killed in auto-pedestrian crash

MIDVALE — A man who police say was in the middle of a dark road was hit and killed by a 15-year-old driver with a learner's permit Monday.
The incident happened just after 10 p.m. at 300 East and 8000 South. Jordan Heugly, 23, of Sandy, was crossing the road to go to work when he was hit by a Ford Mustang driven by a 15-year-old boy, said Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke.
The driver stopped and immediately called 911, but Heugly was pronounced dead at the scene, Lohrke said.
