Riverton to provide its own animal control beginning Feb. 1

RIVERTON — Beginning Feb. 1, the city will provide its own animal control instead of Salt Lake County Animal Services.
All animals from the city currently under the county's care will be turned over to the city. To ease the burden of the transition, Salt Lake County Animal Services is seeking to send stray and abandoned pet that came from Riverton to local animal rescues where they can find new families.
