Report: 3 children struck by lightning in Uintas

KAMAS — The Summit County Sheriff's Office and emergency medical crews are responding to the area near Lily Lake in the Uinta Mountains where three children may have been struck by lightning.Sheriff's Lt. Andrew Wright said dispatchers received a call about 1:50 p.m. He said the incident happened sometime before that as the person who reported the lightning strike had to get to an area where there was cellphone reception.Initial reports said the victims are 6 and 7 years old, he said.
