Provo mourns teacher who died after minor surgery

PROVO — A community is coping with a tough loss after a local elementary school teacher's sudden death.Christy Yardley was supposed to start teaching sixth grade on Aug. 15, but she died on last Friday following complications from a minor surgery, according to her family.The 40-year-old educator had been a teacher around the world, including in Russia and Taiwan. Yardley had spent the last three years at Rock Canyon Elementary in Provo.Yardley leaves behind a husband and four children.Eric
