Provo mom pleads guilty to trying to hire hitman to kill ex

PROVO — A Utah County woman caught in a police sting has pleaded guilty to trying to hire a hitman to kill her children's father.
Cindy Lynn Riggins, 49, of Provo, entered the plea Tuesday to attempted criminal solicitation for murder, a second-degree felony. She is set to be sentenced Jan. 2 in 4th District Court.
Riggins told a friend in August that she wanted the father of her children dead, according to a prepared statement from the Utah County Attorney's Office.
