Police investigating shooting, chase spanning several cities

LAYTON — Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in Layton that appears to have ended in a chase to Salt Lake City.
The incident began about 12:40 p.m. Thursday when a 32-year-old man was shot multiple times on the sidewalk outside an apartment complex at 1567 N. Avalon Drive, Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman.
The man was struck multiple times in the chest, Lyman reported. He was taken by ambulance and then by medical helicopter to University Hospital. Further details about his conditio
