Police: Ex-Herriman High teacher under investigation in texts with student case

HERRIMAN — A former Herriman High School teacher is under investigation for allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a 17-year-old student, police confirmed Thursday.
The texting allegedly started last school year and may have gone into the summer, said Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke. The girl graduated from the school last spring, he said. The former teacher has not been arrested and no charges have been filed against him. The Deseret News has opted not to name him at this time.
