The Wasatch Front is under a winter storm warning through 5 a.m. Sunday, as heavy snow fell with accumulations of a foot or more in some Salt Lake Valley cities, according to the National Weather Service. The Utah Avalanche Center said a skier triggered a 250-foot wide avalanche in Big Cottonwood Canyon, but no injuries were reported.
