Keeping pets safe on Halloween doesn't have to be tricky

SALT LAKE CITY — The Humane Society of Utah is reminding pet owners that Halloween festivities may be stressful for their furry friends and encourages extra attention when opening doors to costumed visitors and partygoers.
"Some pet owners love to dress up their animals during Halloween," Deann Shepherd, a representative with the Humane Society, said in a statement. "We ask that they keep their pet's comfort in mind and make sure costumes don't restrict movement or cause undue stress."
