Hazardous materials spill closes SR-201

WEST VALLEY CITY — State Route 201 is closed in both directions at Redwood Road because of a hazardous materials situation.
Just after 11:30 a.m., a truck was hauling a container of hazardous material, when the container fell off the truck, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce.
Royce did not immediately know how big the container is or what was in it. But the container was leaking, forcing crews to shut down eastbound state Route 201 at Redwood Road and westbound at 900 West.
