Gunman escapes in high speed pursuit

MIDVALE — An officer on patrol in Midvale early Sunday was confronted at gunpoint by a man in dark sedan, which then sped off in a pursuit on I-15 and I-215 that police say reached speeds of 120 mph.Unified police said the incident began at 3 a.m. near 475 W. 2nd Ave., where an officer saw a man in a dark sedan point a gun at him.The car sped off on 7200 South and onto I-15 and I-215.
