Elderly woman dies in Sunset house fire

SUNSET — An elderly woman died in a fire Friday night in the home she rented.North Davis Fire Chief Mark Becraft confirmed Saturday that the woman lived alone in the home. A dog died with her.When firefighters arrived at 75 W. 2300 North at 8:21 p.m. Friday, just three minutes after receiving a 911 call about the fire, "heavy smoke and flames" were coming from the home's front windows, Becraft said.Crews doused the blaze and discovered the woman had died inside, he said.
